Hello, My name is Warren
McLeod and I am running for the position of Coroner of Lewis County
in the 2010 election. This web page will help you learn more
about who I am and why I want to be your next coroner.
I was born and raised in Boston (complete with the accent) and at
age 35 relocated to Las Vegas. I lived there for 14 years but
found that 110 degrees in the summer was just a little too hot for
me. I have lived in Chehalis since December 2008 and have
fallen in love with the beauty, greenness and resources of this
area. I have always wanted to live in a small city and now I
have fulfilled that dream. Since settling here I have met so many
wonderful people who have really made me feel like I am at home.
Lewis County is such an awesome place to live that I want to give
something back to my community. I am running for Coroner and
know I can serve all of the citizens of Lewis County well in this
position as I bring extensive experience, strong integrity and
commitment.
The Coroner is charged by state law with the duty of determining the
cause and manner of deaths reported to the office. The Coroner
is not responsible for conducting criminal investigations to
prosecute guilty parties as this is a responsibility for law
enforcement.
Cause of death can include many things such as heart attack, gunshot
wound or drowning to name just a few. The manners of death are
limited to five:
Natural
-
disease process
Homicide
-
death at the hands of another
Suicide
- taking of one’s own life
Accidental -
no intention
Undetermined
-
manner cannot be forensically determined
As you will see on the
"About Me" page, I
am in the best position to be able to fulfill the duties of Coroner.
